Big Hugs!

So here is the above mentioned edit from my birthday shred at the Northern Star. Featuring some of the BigHugs kids, edited by Louis Mac it makes my heart smile to see these kids on snowboards, Lou is a force to be reckoned with. He has such a unique and fresh style on a snowboard, looking at the mountain and features from a true skateboarders perspective. Along with Jebb, Ant, Jeremy & the rest of the gang, these young bucks are SNOWBOARDING. The real deal... Enjoy.

Longy & The Ashbury Emporium

So it has been a while between posts, seems the business side of things took over somewhat.. I have always had trouble considering snowboarding/skateboarding to be my 'Job' yet with weeks like the couple just past I feel confident in saying I have been working my skinny little white ass off.

I have been out and about a bunch with my homie Big Money (Alex Scott), with Alex Roberts, photo editor for Oz/Nz snowboarding magazine behind the lense and editor Chriso Mcalpine along for the ride being the best site manager and basket-baller money can't buy. Much gratitude boys, was super stoked to be involved.

Stand out session would have to be the fact I finally got to set up and hit a rail I have been looking at for years now, late night rail missions always gets the blood flowing and the fun-o-meter hitting high marks, young Dane Tiene came along for the session and reminded me just how professional the modern day snowboard pro has to be. This kid is so on his shit right now, all the while smiling at every opportunity.

I also celebrated my birthday this week, all be it sore as all fu*k from getting at it, I had the pleasure to shred the resort on a super sunny park day with the 'BigHugs' kids (edit dropping real soon). These kids constantly remind me of why it is I snowboard and skate, for the pure love, the shear stoke and overall vibe that it brings to my heart.. Lets never forget the reason we all started shredding hey, that same feeling we chase each and every time we tie our boots up.. FUN.

Below is a quick little clip from our trip to the Ashbury emporium in downtown LA s few weeks back, thrown together pretty quickly as I thought a few crew out there may be interested in the behind the scenes deal.
Ashbury is still very much a small company, all be it growing at a rapid rate, I was surprised to see just how small the warehouse and 'office' was in downtown 'crackland' Los Angeles.
Nima, Lance and Mike are the real deal, running the whole company themselves yet always putting snowboarding first on the priority list.

The snow has started to really kick into gear here in Tahoe, with this next month being game time out back, looking forward to building some more big ol' jumps and catching some flight time mmm yup smiling at the mere thought.
Until next time beautiful people, take care & keep smiling those contagious smiles.
